AN EXCLUSIVE WAY TO DISCOVER BEER

Here at the Vanhonsebrouck brewery we are creating history with ‘Het Bierkasteel’ (The Beer Castle). ‘Het Bierkasteel’ is the name of our new and impressive brewery complex in Izegem. The creation of ‘Het Bierkasteel’ is an event in its own right. Nowhere in Belgium in the last hundred years has a brand new brewery on this scale been built from scratch on a new site. ‘Het Bierkasteel’ is a multifunctional complex housing events and leisure experiences where you can both literally and figuratively enjoy the taste of traditional brewing craftsmanship with a whiff of high tech. Enjoying, tasting, discovering, meeting, etc. all experienced in a new dimension you simply didn't think possible.

‘Het Bierkasteel’ has four pillars:
• A stylish brasserie where you can taste our beers and enjoy a delicious meal
• An exclusive beer boutique showcasing our special beers, the latest fun beer gadgets and gift baskets
• Attractive spaces for all your parties, business or private
• A fascinating and informative visitors’ centre offering professional guided tours where you can learn everything there is to know about the brewing trade

‘Het Bierkasteel’ is open to groups, companies, clubs and associations as well as families looking for a day out in an impressive and fascinating setting. ‘Het Bierkasteel’ is easy to reach and has parking for 250 cars.

WORLD FOOD WITH ACCOMPANYING BEER

What can you expect in ‘Het Bierkasteel’? Well, there is our stylish brasserie for starters.
The inspirational interior is dominated by the open kitchen and open hearth, but the real show stopper is the striking bar featuring 29 beer taps.

Our chefs will prepare healthy, delicious dishes on our exclusive Mibrasa charcoal grill.

From 4/01/2017 the brasserie is open Tuesday to Saturday from noon till 10pm and you can select from our à la carte menu or choose a business lunch. The bar and the open kitchen provide the ideal backdrop for an enjoyable food sharing experience.

VISITORS’ CENTRE

VISIT ONE OF EUROPE’S MOST MODERN BREWERIES

‘Het Bierkasteel’ will certainly earn its laurels as a visitors’ centre. This is where you start a fascinating tour of the brewery, accompanied by a professional guide and supported by strategically placed media screens and headsets with information in five languages. Discover the details of the process in the brewery hall, the bottling plant, the barrel hall and the cask hall. And of course let’s not forget the tasting session afterwards, where you will be encouraged to sample our world renowned beers.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
  • Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Guided tours are given on tuesday - saturday, irrespective of participant numbers. These start at 10.30am and at 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
  • Upon request, alternative times can be arranged on weekdays for groups of at least 25 persons. Please contact us at info@bierkasteel.be
  • The bottling plant operates Tuesdays, Wednesdays and some Thursday morning, and always features multimedia videos
  • The brewery is closed to visitors on Sundays and mondays
  • Group catering is available upon request
  • Accessible by wheelchair

THREE STATE-OF-THE-ART AND ORIGINAL ROOMS FOR UP TO 250 GUESTS

Are you looking for an original location for an unforgettable family celebration or company reception? ‘Het Bierkasteel’ can assure you of a unique touch for holding your event. Our location offers an entirely new concept where originality and modernism creatively blend, with of course beer as the bonding element. Taking as a starting point the nature and scale of your event, you have three halls to select from, all provided with the very latest in multimedia technology. There is the business focused Boardroom, the Throne Hall and the "Balzaal" with a capacity of up to 250 guests. The spacious outdoor patio, a modern interpretation of the classic castle gardens, is the perfect location for a reception or a walking dinner.

MEETING

The exclusively appointed Boardroom can accommodate up to 16 people, is located on the ground floor and features its own private bar. This hall can be extended thanks to an adjoining space for 60 people. Everything is of course equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia technology and you will enjoy customised in-house catering.

CONFERENCES

For large scale meetings and conferences, 'Het Bierkasteel' also has available another two beautifully set out spaces on the first floor. The Throne Hall has a capacity of 180 people, while the "Balzaal" can accommodate up to 250 people in a theatre style layout. Both these halls are equipped with the very latest in conferencing infrastructure, including three metre wide screens, a Bose sound installation and a central operating system for full multimedia control.

YOUR PARTY

Are you looking for an attractive setting for your party? There are three spacious, multifunctional halls available featuring the fascinating backdrop of an active brewery. The outdoor patio has a spectacular view into the brewery and "Balzaal" behind a massive glass curtain wall.

BEER BOUTIQUE

Every beer lovers’ ultimate dream

The beer boutique has everything to set the heart of a true beer lover aflutter: a wide selection of gift wrapped beers, beer pralines, beer glasses to be used intensively or as collectables, along with a wide range of beer-themed gifts, including textiles and other merchandise. The boutique is comfortable, spacious and conveniently arranged and features a glass wall offering an impressive view of the wooden barrels used to age our beer.

From Bruges (E403)

Exit 7 Izegem, turn left towards Ingelmunster, then continue straight on (N382c). When the lanes split, keep to the right along the channel (Noordkaai). After 1.3 km, take the first left (Lieven Gevaertlaan). Continue 500 m, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout and then the first right (Kachtemsestraat). Continue 1.9 km. Turn right on the small street Brouwerijstraat (final destination).

From Tielt (N399)

Drive to Ingelmuster via Meulebekestraat (N399). At the end of Meulebekestraat, turn right on Bruggestraat (N50d). After 400 m, take the first left (Elf Juli Singel). Continue approximately 1.3 km to the end. Follow the road veering to the right. Ingelmustersestraat. Towards Izegem. Turn left after 450 m , Brouwerijstraat (final destination).

From Kortrijk / Rijsel (E403)

Exit 7 Izegem, turn left towards Ingelmunster and continue straight on (N382c). When the lanes split, keep to the right along the channel (Noordkaai). From Harelbeke / Kortrijk

Take Kortrijkstraat towards Ingelmunster. Just before Ingelmunster station, turn left (Izegemstraat). After approximately 1.9 km, take the first exit at the roundabout (Italianenlaan). Cross the channel bridge, then turn right on Warandestraat. Turn right at the end of Warandestraat (towards Ingelmunster). After 140 m, take the first right, Brouwerijstraat (final destination).

From Roeselare (N36)

After leaving the motorway, continue 3.8 km towards Izegem (N36). At the 3rd roundabout, take the 2nd exit (Delhaize). At the 1st roundabout, take the 1st exit (Hondekensmolenstraat). Follow the road veering to the left at the end (Katteboomstraat). Continue 1 km and keep to the right when the lanes split. Take the 2nd exit at the roundabout (Italianenlaan). Cross the channel bridge, then turn right on Warandestraat. Turn right at the end of Warandestraat (towards Ingelmunster). After 140 m, take the first right, Brouwerijstraat (final destination).
